MORE than 10,000 visitors headed to the Cheshire Game and Angling Fair over the weekend.

In its 29th year, the event attracted huge numbers as residents descended on Peover Hall.

The show was held on Sunday, and Fred Dibnah’s steam engine was the star of the show – courtesy of owner and businessman Michael Oliver – along with a falconry display and an appearance from Peover Hall residents, the Cheshire Forest Hounds.

There were food stalls from local producers as well a craft stall.

Free stands were given to charities and good causes including the Save Tatton Action Group, Knutsford Grow, Knutsford Heritage Centre, the A556 Lobby Group and the Agricultural Chaplaincy.

The show was sponsored by Guy Salmon in Knutsford, and celebrating its 30th anniversary next year, and has raised more than £100,000 for charities and good causes.
