Choir helps couple celebrate milestone

MEMBERS of Knutsford’s daytime choir WAKS Lyrical took time off from rehearsals for their upcoming summer concert to join in the festivities with George and Teresa Sanderson, who recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

The couple both sing in the choir and there can’t be many choral groups in the country who can boast such a long-standing marriage amidst their choristers.

With three weeks to go before the concert at Toft Cricket Club on Wednesday, August 8, the choir felt they could afford to take a break from rehearsals to have a celebratory afternoon tea party with George and Teresa.

If you would like to see this wonderful couple in action, along with other members of WAKS Lyrical, come along to the concert at 4pm on August 8 for a concert packed with an eclectic mix of music from The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady to traditional offerings such as Coulter’s Candy and Amazing Grace.

There are no auditions to be in the choir and it costs £5 a session and £4.50 when you sign up full-time, which includes music, folder, tuition and a cup of tea and a biscuit at the end of the rehearsal.
