Cancer-affected children from Belarus pay visit to Knutsford during trip

A GROUP of 10 children from Belarus who have suffered from cancer will be arriving in east Cheshire this week.

The visit will be the second organised by the Cheshire East branch of the Chernobyl Children’s Project UK.

They will spend two weeks in and around the Knutsford area taking part in a host of activities then will spend two weeks with the south Manchester group of the charity.

While in Cheshire, Knutsford Lions are sponsoring a visit to the Crocky trail and Pam Rigby at the New Barn Livery in Ollerton has offered a free riding lesson for the group.

The children will also be visiting Tatton Park, Styal Mill, the beach at New Brighton and Gulliver’s World.

The boys in the group have been bought tickets for the Olympic football match at Old Trafford – their home nation Belarus are playing Brazil – while the girls are visiting Monkey Forest in Stoke.
