Workers saddled up to raise £30,000 for Mencap
EMPLOYEES from a Knutsford based firm are celebrating raising £30,000 for Mencap while recovering from a 220 mile bike ride.
More than 20 cyclists from de Poel, based in Moseley Hall Farm off Chelford Road, embarked on the three day adventure from Manchester to Paris, which started on June 22, to raise funds for Mencap, the leading voice of learning disability, supporting people with disabilities, their family and carers.
Through determination, all cyclists made it through the driving rain to arrive on French soil and finished their ride in style by riding past the Eiffel Tower on June 24.
Matthew Sanders, Chief executive and member of the de Poel cycling team, said: “With all the national sporting events taking place this summer, it was great to see the effort, determination, commitment and team work from colleagues during the Manchester to Paris bike ride.
“I am extremely proud of the team and grateful to all those who have supported us while we raised such an incredible amount for Mencap.”
