Barclays staff brush up on their gardening skills for St Luke's Hospice
BANK staff swapped suits for shovels when they mucked in for a gardening project at St Luke’s Hospice.
The green-fingered Barclays team from Radbroke Hall in Knutsford gave the charity’s garden an overhaul as part of a series of volunteer projects.
Work was undertaken in the staff, inpatient and day care gardens as well as the paved communal areas.
Water butts were installed, a garden storage unit was created while old outdoor furniture and garden debris was removed and the water gulley was cleared.
Sara Evans, volunteer coordinator at St Luke’s, said: “The gardens and communal areas look amazing and will be enjoyed by inpatients, day care patients, staff, visitors and volunteers within our community.
“I am very grateful to the staff at Barclays for their effort and support.”
Tony Wood from Barclays added: “This is a fantastic example of Barclays staff working closely with the community to achieve something we hope will make a real and lasting difference.
“I would also like to thank the store manager Kevin Pybus from Wickes DIY, Winsford for discounting, coordinating and delivering all the materials needed for this volunteering event.”
