A MILLINGTON charity has raised more than £40,000 after holding a Ladies Lunch.
The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust broke all records at its eighth annual ladies lunch at The Mere on June 13. This year’s theme was Venetian Masquerade and the charity welcomed 435 guests to the event.
The charity’s patrons, Suzan Holder, Catherine Manford, Paralympian Sarah Storey and Carole Nash brought along family and friends to enjoy the event, with Sarah and Suzan going that extra mile by modelling during the fashion show.
The event began with a cocktail drinks reception before guests were invited to indulge in a spot of shopping and pampering from the 18 stalls and beauty demonstrations. Lunch was served, with entertainment provided by singer Deb Silver.
Gravity Live provided dancers and a fashion show by Black White Denim of Wilmslow, featuring two special ‘butlers in the buff’ entertained the crowds while helping to sell boxes of chocolates in one of the charity’s trademark special raffles, with the lucky winner clinching two flights to Washington donated by United Airlines.
The raffle raised £2,130 for the charity.
Julie Gray, events and community fundraiser at CAFT, said: “This was an amazing day, we can’t thank all of our guests and contributors enough. To raise £40,000 was beyond our wildest dreams – we’re all totally blown away by the generosity of all concerned.”
