Brook St club ready to welcome next act

THE Brook Street Club followed up last months sell out gig featuring Grammy nominated delta blues player Kent DuChaine with another sell out crowd watching Knutsford band Darktown Jubilee performing their debut album ‘The World, The Flesh and The Devil’ to a jubilant crowd.

The five piece outfit formed in 2010 feature Dave Boardman, Stuart Day, John Cosgrove, Al Roberts and Gary O’Brien.

Dave is the creative driving force of the band and has previously opened for Elton John at the 02 Arena in London.

Performing live for the first time they opened with the track ‘Lost’. Over the next hour the band delivered a fantastic set showcasing Darktown Jubilee's song writing and musical talents.

Finishing the set with ‘Getting Better’ a bonus track on the CD release the band then played a blistering encore of their debut single ‘Breakdown’.

‘Breakdown’ has already been played on BBC radio and the video featuring Steve Evets from the film ‘Looking for Eric’ is the star in a truly awe inspiring video.

Darktown Jubilee will now be playing other venues to promote the launch of the album which is available through iTunes or the bands website darktownjubilee.co.uk.

Next up for Brook Street Music Club on Friday, June 8 (tomorrow) is Martin Stephenson from 80’s band Martin Stephenson and The Daintees and his country folk trio coming back to the club direct from a UK sell out tour.
