Owzat! Fundraiser at cricket club for hospice

A NIGHT of entertainment has been planned at Old Trafford to raise funds for East Cheshire Hospice.

On Thursday, April 1, at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, comedian and impressionist, Phil Cool and guitar virtuoso, Ken Nicol will join forces to perform in a concert to raise funds for East Cheshire Hospice and Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Together, they produce a two-hour show full of music that both plucks at the heartstrings and tickles the funny bone.

‘An Ode To My Fylde Guitar’, performed Jake Thackery-style, and the Johnny Cash-esque ‘I’m So Weary’ are comedy gems from Phil, and Ken contributes to the lighter side of the show with his autobiographical ‘On Holiday In Stornoway’ and ‘It Could Have Been Me’, the hilarious, ukulele-driven tale of thwarted ambition.

The second half of the show sees Phil Cool showing off a host of musical impressions, plus Ken Nicol displaying his talents as one of the best acoustic guitarists performing at present.

Tickets are £25 and include a two course dinner.

Phil Robertshaw, fundraising and communications manager at East Cheshire Hospice, said: “The hospice is very proud indeed to have the support of such well known and brilliant entertainers. “We do hope everyone will come along, enjoy what promises to be a great night and help them raise funds for this local cause which is close to so many hearts.”
