KNUTSFORD women are being urged to walk, jog or run 5k in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
Registration for the woman-only event in Tatton park on Saturday, June 19, and Sunday, June 20, is now open, and this year participants are being offered the chance to double their distance in a 10k challenge.
There are 6,000 spaces for woman of all ages and fitness abilities and organisers hope the event will raise around £399,930 for the fight against the devastating disease.
Since Race for Life launched in 1994, the overall cancer death rate has dropped by 15 per cent, meaning the fundraising it does for Cancer Research UK certainly makes a difference.
Hannah Thomas Cancer Research UK’s north west events manager, said: “One-in-three people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage in their lives. But the good news is that more people are beating the disease than ever before.
“Cancer Research UK’s work is at the heart of that progress.
“By helping to raise money through Race for Life, our supporters are turning hope into reality.”
