Teacher jailed for having sex with boy

A RELIGIOUS education teacher from Knutsford who had sex with a 15-year-old boy has been jailed for 32 months.
Madeleine Martin, 39, of Grassfield Way, was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court today, Wednesday November 25.
She pleaded guilty to 10 counts of causing a 15-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity between 9 February 2009 and 16 February 2009 at a hearing in September.
Martin qualified as a teacher in 2005 and met her victim in September 2008 at a school in Tameside, Greater Manchester.
Det Sgt Dave Moores, based at Tameside Child Protection Unit, said: "Martin's actions will leave emotional scars on her victim and his family and have also impacted on the wider community."
