MORE pictures of the choosing of Knutsford’s Royal May Queen and her court are now available here.

The ceremony happened last night at the Civic Centre in Toft Road.

Katie Smith was selected as Knutsford’s Royal May Queen.

The 12-year-old was picked out of 27 girls who put themselves forward for the role.

There were more than twice as many candidates as last year.

Emily Bowcock, 13, and Hazel Redhead, 13, were picked as the ladies in waiting.

Amy Kemshead, 13, Hannah Cotton, 12, Rebecca Humphreys, 13, and Olivia Weatherby, 11, will take the roles of the court ladies.

Saskia Pinnington, 11, was selected as Maid Marian.

The top maids will be Emma Sawyer, 9, and Celine Barclay, 9.

The middle maids will be Joanna Henderson, 9, and Michaela Flint, 8.

The bottom maids will be Sarah Healey, 8, and Ella McGrath, 8.

The crown bearer is Ben Sanders, 15.
