SUNRISE of Mobberley is to host a special event for World Alzheimer’s Day.

The home is inviting friends, family and members from the area to a ‘Ballroom Dancing Show and Tea for Two’ event to celebrate Word Alzheimer’s Day on Friday, September 21.

World Alzheimer’s Day is an international event that takes place every year to raise awareness and highlight the stigma and issues faced by people living with dementia and those that care for them.

Join Sunrise of Mobberley from 2.30pm to hit the dance floor or just sit back and reminiscence about a bygone age at their Vintage Dancers ballroom show.

The occasion will involve a mix of meeting and greeting the ballroom dancers whilst enjoying a fabulous performance and interactive show.

Research shows dancing improves physical wellbeing and generates happy memories not just for people with memory loss but for everyone, something which the community will aim to celebrate.

A Tea for Two party will then kick off, complete with high tea for guests to tuck into.

As part of their dedication to offering high quality care for those living with memory loss, Sunrise of Mobberley also host a dedicated ‘Dementia Café’ every second Thursday of the month.

To mark World Alzheimer’s Month all are welcome at September’s session, where a wealth of resources and advice will be available to families and carers affected by dementia as they enjoy light refreshments.

This will take place on September 13 from 10am to 2pm, with Memory Cafes continuing throughout the year every second Thursday of the month. Guests are welcome at any of these sessions run in conjunction with The Alzheimer’s Society.

To book a place at one or both the events call 02037 698752.
