SIXTH formers at Knutsford Academy achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in A Levels for the fourth year in a row.

Some 29 per cent of students were thrilled to get A* or A and a further 86 per cent of grades were between A* and C.

Head teacher James Whittaker said: “These results underline the consistently high levels of achievement secured by students at the Academy over the last few years.

"Students and teachers must be congratulated on their hard work and commitment.”

Josie Brookes, from Knutsford, gained A* in chemistry and biology and A in maths and further maths is off to Cambridge to study veterinary medicine.

The 17-year-old said: "I wasn't expecting to do that well. I'm delighted."

Alex Lunnon, 17, from Knutsford, who achieved As in history, geography and philosophy is looking forward to reading history at Oxford.

He said: "I'm incredibly pleased to to have got these results. It will be a great experience to study at Oxford and experience new things, getting involved in societies."

Abbie Mann, 18, from Northenden, gained As in biology, chemistry and physics.

"I'm going to study zoology at Glasgow," she said. "I've always been interested in this subject.

"The exams were really hard so it was a lovely surprise to do so well."

Simon Keeble, 18, from Knutsford gained A* in maths, A in maths and B in history.

"I'm very pleased," he said. "I'm going to do a maths degree at Newcastle."

Becky Lynes gained three As and has a place at Bristol to study geography.

George Keeble gained two A*s and one A and is looking forward to reading maths at Bristol.

Twins James and Tom Woods both achieved straight A grades.

James is studying mechanical engineering at Bristol and Tom is reading aerospace engineering at Bristol.
