ALDI store manager Kerry Stubbs is welcoming customers back to the supermarket’s new-look store in Holmes Chapel.

Aldi re-opened its store in Manor Lane at 8am today, August 9, following a major refurbishment.

Kerry said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

“We know that the value and quality of our products is unbeatable, and we are committed to making sure that the shopping experience that each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they are used to.

“We were voted Britain’s favourite supermarket in the Which? 2018 Customer Satisfaction Survey voted for by UK shoppers, and we’re delighted that our commitment to fantastic value and quality products is being recognised.

“We’ve got some great Specialbuy deals on throughout our opening week, so we’re set for a busy opening week.”

An Aldi spokesman said: “Standing at 1,254 square metres, a more customer-focused layout allows for the products customers know and love to be found more easily, while browsing new ranges.

“The transformation is part of Aldi’s £300 million investment into improving its stores and service across the UK and is based on feedback from more than 50,000 customers.”

The store’s makeover includes new and improved chillers and freezers, including a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store and increased space dedicated to fresh, British meat products.

The fresh bakery items have been relocated to the final aisle, beers, wines and spirits have been relocated into a dedicated fixture along the back wall and there is a dedicated section of health and beauty products.

The store employs 19 residents, and the refurbishment work has created an additional two jobs.

The store has 117 car parking spaces, and will be open from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10pm and on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Aldi is the UK’s fifth largest and supermarket, with over 775 stores and over 30,000 employees. Aldi store assistants receive a minimum hourly rate of £8.85 nationally and £10.20 in London.
