BUSINESSES are creating a buzz of excitement in Knutsford as the town joins in celebrations for this week's RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.

Numerous businesses have created floral displays to showcase the town centre during the show, which runs until Sunday.

Among the businesses giving a huge show of support to the town and the RHS show are The Old Sessions House and Pulse of Perfumery.

“We believe the flower show brings an awful lot of extra trade to the town, and it’s only right that the traders in Knutsford support the show,” said The Old Sessions House owner Stephen Evans.

“I hear a lot of positive vibes about people making a bigger effort this year to try and get people back into town after the show finishes each day.

“Tatton Park is a fabulous facility very close to the town, and anything that goes on there can only benefit Knutsford.

“We wanted to theme our display to match the flower show theme, which this year is a bee.

“With that in mind we have created a living wall over the front door shaped like a bee, that will be up for three weeks.

“We have painted an old bike yellow, and it will be filled with colourful flowers.

“We have changed our outside flower pots for yellow pots, and have changed our dog drinking barrel to a black and white striped one, so that everything we do outside for the duration of the show will be bee themed.

“I think the reaction will be very positive – we are in a very high profile location at the bottom of Canute Place, and will definitely be the only place in town with a living wall that’s themed like a bee.”

Pulse of Perfumery managing director Peter Murray has created a theme of pink for a display of 2,000 flowers outside the front of his business.

“It’s going to be vibrant and lively, and will have a few bees because I know that bees are going to be part of the theme of this year’s RHS show,” he said.

“We will keep the display up for 10 days, and the flowers will get replaced every day.

“The florist will come here every morning to replace anything that’s damaged and looking wilted, and replace it with fresh cut flowers.

“We have a passion for the town and for bringing magic to people’s lives – I want people to smile.

“I have been doing this for seven years, and we have so many families and children who come and take pictures of the display outside the shop.

“The comments we get about our displays are unbelievable – such as ‘thank God you have done it’ and ‘my children wait for it every year’.

“I am passionate about Knutsford, and care, because people matter to me, and this year I’m seeing some real interest [in the floral displays] among the businesses – it’s wonderful.”
