THE support which charity Age UK provides for older people will be the subject of a talk at Sharston House nursing home in Manor Park South, Knutsford, from 10.30am to noon on Thursday, July 26.

Damon Taylor, chief executive of Age UK Cheshire, will outline the services the charity offers and the ways it can improve the quality of life for pensioners.

The presentation will be the highlight of the Kingsley Healthcare-run home’s monthly coffee morning, the Sharston Coffee Club, which is held from 10.30am to 12.30pm on the last Thursday of every month.

The aim of Sharston Coffee Club is that each month there will be a speaker talking about topics of interest to older people and their families and carers – as well as an opportunity to enjoy a chat over coffee and cakes.

The event is free and everyone attending will be entered into a free prize raffle.

Nishi Gottlieb, manager at Sharston House, said inviting local people to the Sharston Coffee Club was an important way of keeping the home at the heart of the community.

Anyone who thinks they would make a good speaker in future months is asked to contact activities co-ordinator Stacey Hinton at the home on 01565 633022.
