THREE generations celebrated the 40th anniversary of Guys Barbershop in Knutsford on Saturday.

Clients past and present called in during the afternoon at the Canute Place business to enjoy a celebratory drink with owner Daniel Belcher.

The event was also attended by Daniel’s father David, 73, who started the business, and Daniel’s six-year-old son Nathaniel.

Joining in the celebrations were Knutsford Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Peter Coan and his wife Ann.

“People came in during the afternoon for a chat and a beer – it was a really nice atmosphere,” said Daniel.

“It was lovely to have the three generations there – I have a close bond with my dad, and it would be a dream come true to see my little boy cut hair alongside me in the future.

“It was really nice of the mayor and mayoress to come down to see us – we were very touched, and my dad spoke to the mayor about the history of the business.

“I would like to thank everyone who came to see us.”

The celebrations included 50s and 60s music on the business’ juke box, nibbles and cakes, sweets for the children and a 40th anniversary balloon.

Daniel, 38, has been involved in the business for 15 years, and his father is still involved, coming in two days a week.
