CADET Corporal Max Risley is looking forward to a fun and busy year.

Max, from 2056 squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets, said he was privileged to be Knutsford Mayor Cllr Peter Coan’s Cadet for 2018-19.

He said: “This gives me the opportunity to meet other people in Knutsford and promote activities that I enjoy through the cadets and scouts.

“Obviously as a cadet, I enjoy things related with flying, part of which is the opportunity to go gliding.

“I also play the Euphonium, both in school and in the RAFAC – one involves less marching and more sitting.

“I enjoy archery and cookery, but not at the same time, unless you like kebabs.

“I am also an Explorer Scout and have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2019. This is a global event attended by more countries than the Olympics.

“I also undertake volunteer work as a young leader with the cubs, which is fun. With the training activities within the Air cadets as well, you can see that I am going to have a fun, but also very busy year.”
