ALMOST £1,800 has been raised towards creating an award in memory of Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School student Gregory Priestnall.
Gregory died earlier this year, and was a very popular and successful member of the school’s sixth form.
He was preparing to take his A Level examinations, and was a model student with exemplary learning attitudes.
The school wanted to remember Gregory by creating the Priestnall Award, to be presented to a student who displays the same learning attitudes as Gregory.
The school wanted to raise enough money to make the award a long-running tradition, and because the justgiving online donation page has raised almost £1,800, six times the £300 target, the school is to discuss other ideas as well with Gregory’s parents, including a bench in the sixth form area and a charity they might wish to support.
Gregory is remembered in the school’s new Garden of Memories.
