CIVIC leader Cllr Peter Coan is celebrating the sizzling success of a charity barbecue.

Cllr Coan is this year’s Knutsford Mayor, and hosted a fundraising barbecue on Friday night to raise money for his four chosen charities.

More than 50 guests enjoyed an evening of delicious food from the Market Café with a pop-up bar from Tatton Brewery.

Event Buddha sponsored the production of the event providing outdoor furniture, gazebos, sound and lighting.

The overall feel was friendly and relaxed with guests enjoying a balmy summer’s evening.

Cllr Coan said: “My first Mayoral fundraiser was a roaring success, the informal setting allowed all of us to mingle and have a fantastic time whilst enjoying the Market Café’s superb food.

“I would like to thank civic guests the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Alex Black and the Mayor of Bollington Cllr Jon Weston for attending the event along with their Consorts.

“I am delighted to have been able to raise £300 for my local charities.”

Funds raised over the course of the Mayor’s year will support the following local charities: Knutsford Heritage Centre, Friends of the Moor, The Welcome and Knutsford Community First Responder Trust.
