VALE Royal String Orchestra is to welcome soloist Debbie Fuller for its concert as part of the Knutsford Music Festival.

The concert is entitled A Musical Pot Pourri, and is being held at St Cross Church on Friday, June 22 at 7.30pm.

The orchestra will welcome Debbie as soloist in the Oboe concerto by Cimarosa (arranged by Arthur Benjamin), which features in the concert.

Debbie studied oboe and cor anglais at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she was awarded the Peter Graeme Oboe Prize and the Winfield Scholarship.

At 13 she won a full music scholarship to Wells Cathedral School and gained a place in the National Youth Wind Orchestra, later playing principal oboe.

She now works as a primary school teacher specialising in infant music, as well as performing regularly with many orchestras and ensembles in the north west.

The Pot Pourri programme also features a new arrangement for String Orchestra of a selection from Copland’s ever popular Rodeo suite.

The other works included in the programme are Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger, Idyla Suite by Janacek and Mozart’s Divertimento K138.

Richard Adamson, who conducted the orchestra’s last concert at Little Budworth, returns to take it through the inspiring programme.

Profits from the evening will be donated to St Cross Church. Tickets are £12 (school age children £6), available from Grahame Nairn 01565 632168 by emailing stcross.knutsford@gmail.com, online at knutsfordmusicfestival.com and on the door on the evening.
