CHILDREN’S charity The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust is celebrating its 20th year at the heart of the Knutsford community by inviting customers old and new to pop into its shop on Canute Square to say hello and browse the stock.

The charity moved into its Knutsford base in April 1999, and has welcomed thousands of customers, raising thousands of pounds for the charity which provides holidays, day trips and Christmas parties for children across the north west.

Charity patron Jason Manford officially re-opened the shop after a major refurbishment in April 2014.

During the refurbishment the exterior of the shop was transformed, and it now ties in with the theming on the charity’s two Bobby Buses which transport children to and from the Adventure Farm for their holidays.

Catherine Watton and Marjorie Brister manage a team of nine volunteers, who keep the busy shop open from Monday to Saturday.

Catherine said: “The charity shop is much more than a shop for us, it’s a vital presence in the community which raises not just funds but also the profile of our charity.

“It’s a base for the community to meet our staff and volunteers, to learn more about our work and see how they can get involved.

“We’d love to celebrate our 20th year by making it the most successful in our history, so we encourage customers to pop in to see us and pick up a bargain.

“We’d also welcome donations of clothing, accessories, children’s toys and bric-a-brac for sale in the shop - please just drop in during opening hours if you have items you’d like to donate.

“The funds we raise through the shop are vital, helping us to provide holidays and day visits to ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over our region.”
