POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Ollerton near Knutsford.
The incident took place on the A537, Chelford Road, near to the junction of Seven Sisters Lane, at about midday on Monday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "The collision involved a grey Mercedes and the driver of a blue HGV, which was stationary at the time of the incident.
"The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and members of the public also stopped to provide assistance until the arrival of ambulance crews.
"Sadly, the driver of the HGV, a 64-year-old man from Verwood, Dorset, died at the scene as a result of his injuries."
PC Geraint Williams said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the HGV parked up or may have seen the incident itself.
