TRAINS are cancelled on the Mid Cheshire Line this morning, Monday, between Chester and Stockport, due to a safety inspection.
Northern advises that trains running through the stations affected – including Northwich and Knutsford – will be cancelled or delayed by up to an hour.
Disruption is expected until 10am today.
A spokesman said: “Due to safety check being made services can not at present [run] from Chester to Manchester.
“Road Transport has been requested at Chester.
“Ticket Acceptance has been agreed with Arriva Trains Wales between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly.
“Ticket Acceptance has been agreed with Metrolink between Altrincham and Manchester Piccadilly.
“Please listen for station announcements regarding updates on this disruption and for any amendments to your train service.”
