RESIDENTS past and present are invited to share their memories of May Days at this year’s celebrations in Knutsford.

The annual reunion is being held on The Moor on Saturday, May 5, and is organised once again by Thomas Raistrick, from Portsmouth, who was born and bred in Knutsford.

People are invited to share their memories of the town and its May Day celebrations between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

The reunion will feature a banner including photographs of people who have died, contributed by family members, and people can leave messages on the banner.

The first of the reunions was staged on May Day 2016, and this will be the last one to be organised by Thomas, who is hoping someone will take on the organisation of the event, which attracted 250 and 140 people in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

“A lot of people who met up at the reunions are still keeping in touch today, and we will have a minute’s silence for people who have died,” said Thomas.

He thanked Stuart and Dionne Newman for funding the 2016 and this year’s banners, and is hoping to present the banners to Knutsford Heritage Centre following next weekend’s event.
