UP to 30 homes in the Heron Close area of Knutsford have had their electricity supply disrupted this afternoon after a gas pipe ruptured.
Fire crews from Knutsford and Wilmslow were sent to a fire from a ruptured gas pipe on Heron Close just after 2pm. Crews kept the area safe until gas engineers arrived to isolate the supply.
A Scottish Power Energy Networks spokesman said the damage to the pipe was caused by a third party carrying out work, and Scottish Power was on site working to get supplies restored to the homes.
The spokesman apologised to the company's customers for any inconvenience caused.
