VILLAGERS are being urged to join the community Speedwatch team.

The call comes from Mobberley Parish Council, which said speeding in the village was a major issue.

“PCSO Emma Darroch has recently been out in Mobberley with the TruCam in an attempt to reduce the number of speeding vehicles in the village,” said a Speedwatch spokesman.

“More than 30 motorists were caught travelling in excess of 30mph.

“As the majority of residents will be aware, speeding vehicles are a huge problem in the village, and the parish council, with the help of Knutsford Police, organises Speedwatch sessions to try to combat this issue.

“New members are always needed to join and help the members of the Speedwatch team.

“Councillor Viv Pike, who heads the team, has organised a training session at the Rajar Building at 7pm on Tuesday, May 8.

“If you would like to join the Speedwatch team and take part in the training session on 8th May, please email vivpike@btinternet.com

“Your help will be greatly appreciated in an attempt to reduce the number of speeding vehicles.”

PCSO Darroch also arranges police surgeries at the Rajar Building.

These surgeries give residents the opportunity to speak to her confidentially about any issue they may have. They are drop-in sessions, so no appointment is needed.
