SCOUTS have been celebrating the dramatic success of a fundraising evening for their Jamboree trip next year.

Eve Vickers, Amber Houghton, Dominic Cooper, Joseph Royle, Annemieke DeJong and Katie Davies are raising funds to take part in the World Jamboree in West Virginia in the USA in July 2019.

They are members of Knutsford Explorer Scouts, and have to raise £24,000 between them, not only for their fees but to help Scouts from countries who are unable to fundraise, enabling as many young people as possible to attend.

They have received a £700 boost from Knutsford Little Theatre, which raised the money from ticket sales and a raffle from the first night of its latest production, Ladies Down Under.

An Explorers spokesman said: “We are very grateful to the cast and crew at the Little Theatre for this fantastic opportunity, which boosted our fundraising and gave those who attended a great evening’s entertainment.”

The six Scouts have been delivering order forms for bedding plants supplied by local producer Les Halman Nurseries, and will have a stall in the craft marquee on May Day in Knutsford and a stall at the Makers Market on Sunday, May 6.

Anyone wishing to order bedding plants who has not received a form please email amandav71@icloud.com

All orders to be returned to the contact on the forms no later than Thursday, April 26.
