MOBBERLEY Brewhouse owner James Roberts cannot wait to welcome beer lovers to his new bar in Knutsford.

The company is looking to open a bar in Minshull Street after taking over premises from The Tap and Bottle, which closed on Saturday.

James, who is also head brewer at Mobberley Brewhouse said: “The aim for our bars is simple – to provide a taste of the brewery in a handful of brilliant locations in our surrounding area.

“We want to and have always endeavoured to engage with consumers as much as possible and include them in what we are doing.

“New customers and existing fans of our beer will be able to take advantage of a huge line-up of our beers, as well as new releases and limited edition beers, some of which will be distributed to our bars only.

“We will also be featuring the best beer we can get our hands on from our amazing brewing friends around the UK, as well as our personal favourites.

“Gin will also form a huge part of what we do, as it is something we are also very passionate about – expect a huge variety of small batch and progressive gins.

“As well as beer and gin, we are aiming to serve food in the form of brilliant hand-crafted pizzas, from our pals The Pizza Maker.

“We cannot wait to open our doors and welcome people in later this year.”

The Minshull Street bar is set to open in the summer, and Mobberley Brewhouse is also opening a bar in Stockport.

Tap and Bottle managing director Rick Hoskins said: “The Tap has been a labour of love, and I have loved running my own business and achieving my dream of providing Knutsford with great tasting beer with an easy-going atmosphere.

“It has been an honour to serve everyone and to be presented with awards for serving quality beer.

“However, after more than a decade in the trade it’s time for me to take some time away from the industry, focus on family life and embark on a new challenge.

“I would like to thank our incredible staff, customers and everyone who has supported us over the past three years.

“I am thankful for all the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure to meet along the way. I would not have been able to do it without you - see you on the other side of the bar!”
