TEENAGER Samantha Drucker has been chosen to be this year’s Goostrey Rose Queen.
Samantha, 13, has lived in Goostrey for three years, and is a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School.
She was chosen for the royal role by an independent panel of judges, and will be accompanied by her attendants Polly Clayton, Francesca Fairhurst, Grace Hey, Ellisse Nasry and Cheyenne Wakefield.
She is due to be crowned at the Rose Festival celebrations on Saturday, June 30.
Kate Pearson was chosen to be Rosebud Queen, with Isla Machin as her lady in waiting, and Gabriella Ashbrook, Scarlet-Rose Challinor, Tilly Foster, Brianna Hamilton and Isla Kingsbury as her attendants.
Chris Burgess, chairman of the Rose Festival, said: “Goostrey Rose Day remains a very important part of our village life and it is very satisfying to see so many girls wanting to be our queen."
