HIGHWAYS officers from Cheshire East are in Knutsford clearing a fallen tree which has blocked Toft Road.
The tree came down this morning, closing the road in both directions.
The road block is near the Bexton Lane junction, with a lamppost also damaged by the fall.
Police were called at 10.24am. A police spokesman said: "We are currently dealing with a tree down on Toft Road, Knutsford blocking the road in both directions. Please avoid the area if possible."
A Cheshire East spokesman said: "The A50 Toft Road is closed between Adams Hill and Seven Sisters Lane due to a fallen tree.
"Highways are now on site to clear the tree. Thanks for your patience."
A diversion is in place via Goughs Lane.
