PARKGATE manufacturing company Packaging Automation has been scooped a national award at ceremony held in London.

The leading manufacturer of flexible and resource-efficient packaging machines won the Business Growth Award at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

The award recognises dynamic business growth through consistent strategy.

Packaging Automation was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics, up against tough competition from a range of dynamic businesses, small and large, from across the UK.

Judges were impressed with their story of how they went from the brink of collapse to a fantastic success, requiring numerous tough decisions along the way.

On top of this success Packaging Automation was named runner-up for the Developing People Award, for the manufacturer that has done the most to build skills, harness talent and develop its employees.

Samantha Ashton, commercial director at Packaging Automation, said: “We are always trying to innovate and push ahead with new ideas, so to win this award and to have our success recognised is a great accomplishment and a well-deserved complement to our team.

“This truly gives our business growth strategy the seal of approval.”

Stephen Phipson, CEO at EEF, said: “Business growth is critical to the success of companies, local communities and the UK as a whole.

"Packaging Automation is a great example of a company that has seized the initiative, created its own opportunities and has grown stronger and more resilient as a result.

"This is justly deserved and we wish Packaging Automation continued growth success in the future.”
