AN annual charity golf day, which raises tens of thousands of pounds in vital funding for the Children’s Farm Adventure Trust, is welcoming applications from teams of four.

Now in its 18th year, the CAFT Golf Day at The Mere is a staple in the fundraising calendar as the Millington-based charity continues to support ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the north west.

This year’s event is supported by BACTA North West and takes place on Thursday, May 3.

Entry for a team of four will cost £500, to include a meal before play, refreshments on the courts and, later, a gala dinner featuring entertainment from award-winning musician Jennie Sawdon.

Players will also receive goodie bags and are invited to take part in a number of fun competitions. The top three teams are also in line for prizes.

As well as taking part on the course, you can help back the high-profile event by sponsoring a hole for £100 or Halfway House for £500.

CAFT events fundraiser Pippa Watton said: “The CAFT Golf Day has become a must in the golfing calendar and we’re so excited to be holding it at The Mere again this year.

“Team places are selling fast so we’re encouraging teams to register as soon as possible as space is limited.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for golfers to play this beautiful Championship course which is renowned for its immaculate greens and fabulous facilities.

“There’ll be plenty of fun games along the way too and a delicious dinner with entertainment to round the day off.”

Last year’s participants included former Wales international footballer Sam Ricketts and Wigan Athletic’s Michael Jacobs.

Additional tickets for dinner can be purchased for £45. To book your team place, or to talk about sponsorship opportunities, call Pippa Watton on 01565 830 053 or email pippa@caft.co.uk
