SLYDIGS will be sharing a stage with Def Leppard at one of the UK’s most iconic venues.

The Burtonwood rock and roll band, who toured Europe and America with The Who, have been invited to this year’s high profile gig in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust at Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, March 25.

Slydigs frontman Dean Fairhurst said: “Not only will we be supporting such the colossal rock band Def Leppard but we’ll also be performing for such a great cause.

“When we toured with The Who it was incredible to see the full extent of the hard working people at Teenage Cancer Trust and to be a part of that is a sheer privilege.

“It’s a cause that we hold to our hearts and we are always looking to give back whenever we can.”

Before the Royal Albert Hall Slydigs will also be playing their biggest headline show at the 1,100-capacity Parr Hall.

The hometown show on Friday, March 16, will see them joined by electro funk collective The Winachi Tribe for a celebration of the fifth birthday of Warrington Music [WAM], a site that champions the town’s artists.

It is the first time a grassroots Warrington band has been booked to play the Parr Hall – the biggest music venue in the town – since Viola Beach.

“That is certainly going to be some warm up,” added Dean.

“After we played the 02 Arena in 2015, someone asked me what was the venue in Britain you would most want to play.

“It was always The Royal Albert Hall. Now we will be able to tick that one off on March 25. I just hope they know some decent roofers as we’ll be blowing that ceiling right off!”
