CHESHIRE'S best performing primary schools have been revealed after the government published this year's key stage two SATs results.
League tables published by the Department of Education rank schools by the percentage of children in year 6 reaching the ‘expected standard’ in reading, writing and maths in the 2016/17 academic year.
With an average of 64 per cent of children meeting the standard across the borough, Cheshire East Council schools have exceeded the national average of 61 per cent.
The two Peover schools put on a strong showing, with Lower Peover achieving 91 per cent – the third best in Cheshire West and Chester – and Peover Superior 89 per cent – second best across east Cheshire.
The CWaC average was 59 per cent – two points below the national line.
