AFTER days of freezing weather, the Knutsford Lions are reminding residents of how they can keep fellow Knutsfordians warm through their annual winter fuel allowance scheme.

Project Wenceslas, run in conjunction with the Citizens' Advice Bureau and Great Places Housing, allows older residents who don't feel they will need their entire fuel allowance to share it with those who may struggle.

All donations are placed in a Lions charity account ringfenced for Project Wenceslas, and when the CAB or Great Places identify those needing help funds are paid direct to their utility accounts.

Donations can be made via the Lions ‘JustGiving’ account – head to knutsfordlions.org.uk and follow the instructions on the homepage.

Alternatively, cheques made payable to ‘Knutsford Lions Charity Account’ (marked ‘Project Wenceslas’ on the back) can be sent to Knutsford Lions c/o Peter Willgoose, Chestnut Cottage, Tabley Road, Knutsford WA16 0NE.

If donations are from a tax payer Gift Aid can be claimed and a form regarding this will be supplied on request.
