MOTTRAM Hall Hotel has been awarded four silver stars in the AA’s new rating system, receiving praise for service, cleanliness and food and drink.

Part of the QHotels chain, the 18th-century Georgian country house hotel – managed by Redefine BDL Hotels – is enjoying a strong end to the year following its recent Marketing Cheshire Award.

The new Silver Star rating, which can only be awarded to hotels with an existing rosette award, recognises the hotel as providing high quality service.

Deirdre Billing, general manager of Mottram Hall, said: “Having won the title of ‘Best Wedding Venue South Manchester’ at the Eat Drink Sleep Awards earlier this year, we’re delighted to be awarded with this new accolade.

“It’s a further sign for our customers of the exceptional service and the experience they can expect at Mottram Hall.

“We are so pleased to see our team recognised in the industry with this amazing accolade, a testament to all their hard work in making Mottram Hall not just a luxurious wedding venue, but a front runner in the luxury hotel market.”

Meanwhile, a cheeky best man who delivered a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’-style rap as his speech at Mottram Hall has won the QHotels Wedding Speech of the year award.

Craig Porretta, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, told the love story of not only the bride and groom, but also the groom and best man’s ‘bromance’.

Starting as a traditional speech before turning the tables, Craig even drafted in the groom’s mother to perform a line in the witty 15-minute performance.

Craig’s win has earned him an overnight stay, with dinner, for two people at one of the group’s four-star venues.
