THE annual Knutsford Lions charity concert, held for the first time at The Courthouse, has been hailed a success.
The folk group Houghton Weavers performed in front of an audience of more than 200, bringing their wide-ranging programme of music and subtle comedy.
Songs included ‘Matchstick Mena nd Matchstick Cats and Dogs’, ‘Street of London’ and ‘Dirty Old Town’, as well as the cleverly-worded ‘Don’t Cry for me Marge and Tina’.
Lion member Peter Willgoose said: “The newly renovated Courthouse, with its high and beautifully-plastered ceilings proved to be an ideal venue.
“Houghton Weavers are a class act who brought joy and laughter to a happy and thoroughly entertained audience. On top of everything else the event was a financial success.”
