CHILDREN at a Winsford Primary school went out of their way to sell poppies last week.

Year 6 children at Grange Community Primary School gave up their own time to sell poppies, before and after school, as well as during their break-times.

Pupils paid their respects to the fallen, working in partnership with the Royal British Legion.

The school also hosted a school assembly where parents were invited to join the children in remembering those who fought for our freedom.

Annette Williams, executive headteacher, praised the children for their efforts leading up to Armistice Day.

She said: “We are just so proud of our whole school community here at Grange, as this week especially we have all been thinking about what others have done for us and remembering those who fought for our freedom.”
