Egerton Football Club is calling on residents to provide an extra gift for a child this Christmas as part of The Toy Appeal.
On Saturday, November 18, the Mereheath Lane club is acting as a large area collection point for donations of new, unwrapped gifts for underprivileged children who would otherwise not receive any on Christmas Day.
The Toy Appeal helps more than 4,000 disadvantaged up to age 17 to wake up happier on Christmas Day.
Toys such as board games, books, skipping ropes, footballs, teddies, puzzles or anything that a child would enjoy would help make Christmas one to remember, with a current shortage of presents for eight to 12-year-olds.
Gaynor Clifton of Egerton Football Club said: "The Toy Appeal is a great cause and we are really excited to be working with them again.
"Providing a collection point for the area is special to us and we are looking forward to seeing all of the gifts brought in to help make Christmas special for the children.”
For those unable to drop off unwrapped presents, the appeal is taking donations online at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/TheToyAppeal
