A YOUNG accounts assistant has come up with a novel way to keep up her passion for body art.

Lucy Edwards, from Middlewich, has already begun to earn a good reputation for her face painting ability after setting up Lucy's Creations – a specialist makeup service run from her home in Welbeck Close.

But now the 20-year-old, who studied art and design at Mid Cheshire College, is hoping to test her skills even further by painting baby bumps – and she's looking for pregnant women in Cheshire to become her first models.

“I started face painting a couple of months ago, and I had a lot of customers at Halloween,” she told the Guardian.

“I wanted to find a way of keeping it going all year round, then I heard about baby bump painting and thought it would be a good idea.

"Lots of people have already contacted me about it, and I'm hoping to get my first models this week."

Baby bump painting is a completely new skill for Lucy, who is looking to offer trial runs for free as she gets to grips with the art form.

She has 'a few ideas in mind' for her first models – including cartoon characters, flowers and abstract designs.

"I've seen examples of it done before, including from another artist in Cheshire," she said.

"I'm just waiting on confirmation for from my first two models, and then hopefully it will go down really well."
