A CONSULTATION on the plan which will help shape future development in Knutsford opens on Monday, with residents urged to make their voices heard on key policies.

Knutsford’s neighbourhood plan (NP) will complement the borough’s local plan, giving those who live in the town a chance to choose how the town’s allocated 960 homes are built and what benefits they bring to the community.

Working groups on the NP committee include sport, health, housing, employment, leisure, heritage and the town centre, and residents are being asked to comment on emerging policies as part of a consultation.

The survey – running from November 13 to December 18 – will be delivered to your door and can be completed online at knutsfordnp.org.uk with 10 participants will be chosen at random to win £75.

Committee chairman Cllr Stewart Gardiner said: “Ensuring the voices of as many Knutsfordians as possible are embedded within our plan is vitally important. The whole purpose of the NP is to give local people a greater voice in planning.

“I encourage residents of all ages to complete the paper survey, complete it online or visit us at one of our drop-in sessions. We need your voices in your plan.”

Residents will receive a summary of the emerging policies, with the full document available online.

Drop-in sessions take place at Knutsford Methodist Church, November 20, 11am to 2pm; Shaw Heath Social Club, November 21, 1pm to 4pm; Manor Crescent Scout Hut, November 23, 9am to 1pm; The Welcome, November 24, 3pm to 7pm; town council offices, November 29, 3pm to 7pm; Christmas Market, December 2 and 3.
