A NUMBER of Remembrance Day services will take place in Northwich and its surrounding areas on Sunday.

Northwich Town Council’s Remembrance Sunday event will involve a parade assembling at Crum Hill, adjacent to the police station, at 9.15am.

Those in attendance will march along Chesterway, into Church Road and on to St Helen’s Church for the Service of Remembrance, which will take place at 10am.

Once the service has finished, guests will make their way to the war memorial for the Act of Remembrance where dignitaries, regiments and various organisations will lay their wreaths.

A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.

A service will take place at 2pm at Rudheath Cemetery, with a brass band and children from Rudheath Primary School and University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN).

Davenham’s parade will form at the Royal British Legion HQ, Firthfields, at 9.45am for a 10.05am start. The service at St Wilfrid’s Church starts at 10.30am.

After the service the parade will re-form outside the church and move off to the War Memorial for the wreath laying ceremony. The parade will then move to the RBL HQ for dismissal and refreshments.

Lostock Gralam Parish Church will host a Remembrance Day service at 10am followed by wreath laying at 11am.

Weaverham’s Remembrance Day Parade will form up outside Northwich Road Shops and will leave promptly at 2.30pm. The Remembrance Service will take place at St Mary’s Parish Church at 3pm.
