HOLMES Chapel Parish Council has welcomed a new member of staff to its ranks.

Sue Davies has taken up the role of clerk at the council.

In recent years, Sue has been acted as clerk for various parish councils within Cheshire East Council, and had been working with four smaller councils concurrently up until accepting her new position.

She brings with her a wealth of parish council experience, and is due to complete her Certificate in Local Council Administration in December.

This is a necessary step to enable Holmes Chapel Parish Council to retain is status as a Quality Gold Council.

Sue said: “I am looking forward to continuing the good work of my predecessor to assist Holmes Chapel Parish Council in pursuing its work for the community, and working closely with many other local organisations to allow Holmes Chapel to prosper and flourish.”

Outside of work and caring for her family, Sue’s main interest is running.

She is a member of South Cheshire Harriers and especially enjoys fell running in the Peak District and Snowdonia.

Brian Bath, chairman of Holmes Chapel Parish Council, said: “All of the council welcomes Sue and knows that she will continue to provide us with steady guidance and support.

“In particular she will be seen by the local community as someone who can be approached.

“There are still many challenges faced by our community – development of all types, highways traffic and all the related issues and all other areas of village infrastructure.

“Sue has shown her interest in all these and I am sure she will be a strong asset for the community.

“We encourage all the community to call by the office and say hello.”
