POLICE appealing for information about a distraction burglary in Goostrey have released an e-fit in a bid to trace the suspect.

Between 11.30am and noon on Friday, October 13 a man knocked on the door of an elderly couple's home in Main Road.

The suspect said he was from the water board and entered the property before telling the victims there was a burst pipe nearby and he needed to run a tap in their kitchen.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s or 30s, 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build with dark curly hair. He drove off in a white van in the direction of Chelford or Jodrell Bank.

“Please do not let any cold caller into your home and always ask for ID if anyone calls.

"If anyone has any information about this incident please call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 152 of the 14/10/17.
