A NURSING home has launched its own library service to meet residents’ voracious appetite for books.

Sharston House activities coordinator Stacey Hinton has amassed a varied collection of books and magazines, and taken on the duty of head librarian.

She said: “We have built up a collection through kind donations and I take books around the home on a trolley once a week.

“Our residents really love it. Some are bed-bound but they still like to read.”

Tastes ranged from thrillers and books on sport to romance novels and history titles.

She said they were keen to further build up the library and appealed for more book donations to the Kingsley Healthcare run home in Manor Park South.

“Books on wartime aircraft are very popular; we could also do with more books about football and cricket,” she said.
