POETS will descend on Knutsford Library tomorrow, Thursday, for an evening of poetry and music in celebration of Libraries Week.

The 'People, People, People' event will see Margaret Holbrook and former Cheshire poet Laureate John Lindley visit the Toft Road library from 6.45pm tomorrow evening.

Margaret will read from her new 'Not exactly life' collection about women, while John will entertain with some of his work selected to fit the human being theme.

There will also be occasional music, a Knutsfordian performance piece by Michael Gibson about Canute, and a reading about his character Doris by the very amusing Macclesfield writer Charles Heathcote.

Library manager Mike Drew said: “It is great to have Margaret, John and the others return to Knutsford Library and help celebrate Libraries Week. We are looking forward to a very varied evening's entertainment.

"There will be opportunities for open–mic style contributions from the floor so we are hoping for a surprise or two.”

The show starts at 6.45pm tomorrow, October 12, with refreshments available and tickets at just £5.
