STAFF at a Knutsford recruitment firm are rising to the challenge by raising money in a string of charity challenges.

Members of the KDR Recruitment team, whose office is in Canute Place, are given a day’s annual leave to do something for the community, with many lining up events to raise money for good causes.

Leading by example, managing director Mark Dexter is gearing up to take part in the CEO Sleepout in Manchester next month, raising money and awareness for charities fighting homelessness.

He said: “I went through Brighton station recently, early on a Saturday, and was appalled at the number of young people begging for breakfast.

“I bought one young man a toasted croissant and a cup of coffee, which is what he wanted, and he cried with gratitude.

“This was the final straw for me, so I’m going to be sleeping in a field - OK, on a cricket pitch - in Manchester. I am also trying to raise a minimum of £1,000, hopefully much more.”

Mark has high standards to follow, with three of the KDR team taking part in the Longest Golf Day challenge for Macmillan in August, raising £720 by playing 72 holes of golf in one day.

Later in October, three staff members will skydive for mental health charity Mind, hoping to raise £1,300.
