STORM Aileen felled a tree in Goostrey overnight, leading to a road closure.
Heavy winds affected much of the borough last night and in the early hours of this morning, with the tree in Goostrey Lane coming down around 4.30am.
Cheshire East Council highways teams cleared the incident, and the road was reopened by 6.30am.
A CEC spokesman said: "Cheshire East Highways have cleared a number of fallen trees during the night but the borough appears to have escaped the scale of damage which has occurred in other parts of the country.
"Motorists are advised to take extra care as there may be debris on roads and surface water."
Crewe, Siddington, Middlewich and Sandbach were also affected overnight.
