A MAN has died after being struck by a train at Holmes Chapel railway station.
British Transport Police officers were called to the station at 12.27pm on Monday following reports of two people having been struck by a train.
A man and a woman were taken to hospital.
The man has died from his injuries and the woman remains in hospital with 'life-changing injuries', a spokesman for the BTP has confirmed.
Their next of kin have been informed.
The police spokesman said the incident is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are working to establish the circumstances of what happened.
